Preheat the oven (180°C electric, 160°C fan). Lightly butter a 24 cm baking tin. Pour the cake mix into a bowl and add egg yolk and 100 g of butter straight from a fridge, cut into small pieces. Mix briefly using a fork first, then use your hands to get a very lumpy mixture. Add the almonds. Transfer to the baking tin without pressing. Bake until golden brown (about 40 minutes in an electric oven, 30 minutes in a fan oven). Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely before serving.
