Cut the bean in length and put it in the liquid chosen for the preparation, bring to a boil, remove from the heat and leave to infuse for 15 minutes. For a more intense flavour remove with a knife the pulp and seeds from the bean and mix them with the liquid. To make a dessert with no seeds put the bean in the liquid without cutting it, bring to a boil and leave to infuse for 20 minutes. One vanilla bean flavours 500 ml of liquid or a dough of 500 g of flour.
